As his presidency continues to go down the tube with multiple failures and scandals, Donald Trump’s self-praise continues to get more and more ridiculous. What happened on Twitter this morning is the perfect example of a man who is losing it and desperate to put on a good show while his presidency crumbles before everyone’s eyes.
Trump was up bright and early and began an insane, erratic Twitter rampage by congratulating himself for all of his “very effective” leadership (which is pretty damn laughable). Trump quoted Thomas Binion of The Heritage Foundation to boast about his presidency and compare himself to Ronald Reagan:
The Heritage Foundation has just stated that 64% of the Trump Agenda is already done, faster than even Ronald Reagan. “We’re blown away,” said Thomas Binion of Heritage, President Trump “is very active, very conservative and very effective. Huge volume & spectrum of issues.”
The fact that this comment came from the Heritage Foundation makes it pretty much irrelevant, but when you’re as desperate as Trump is for praise, then I guess you have to use it.
And that wasn’t all; Trump was just getting started. Two hours later, Trump started boasting about the border wall that the majority of America STILL doesn’t want. Trump tweeted:
45 year low on illegal border crossings this year. Ice and Border Patrol Agents are doing a great job for our Country. MS-13 thugs being hit hard.
I have decided that sections of the Wall that California wants built NOW will not be built until the whole Wall is approved. Big victory yesterday with ruling from the courts that allows us to proceed. OUR COUNTRY MUST HAVE BORDER SECURITY!”
Trump’s wall idea (and its very expensive construction) has been torn apart so many times, it’s frankly embarrassing that Trump continues to talk about it. No one wants to pay for the wall, and no one believes it will actually work. Trump is the only one insane enough to believe in it.
It seems that Trump is in one of his hysterical episodes, and he’s just getting started.
Keep an eye on his Twitter, because he’s sure to erupt with even more nonsense.
