Donald Trump is going out of his way to pretend that his Russia investigation isn’t about to blow up in his face and bring his presidency crashing down – but many members of his administration are in no mood to play oblivious to the truth. It turns out, White House aides are slowly accepting the fact that the Trump administration is probably f*cked now, and they’re venting their fears and uncertainties behind closed doors.
Apparently, Trump’s own aides are basically admitting that the stories coming out of the White House to defend Trump should not be believed at all, and that Manafort’s indictment and the fact that foreign policy adviser George Papadopolous is now cooperating with the FBI basically means Trump is doomed.
New York magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi took to Twitter to report what a former Trump aide told her in an off the record statement, and it’s pretty shocking. This former aide stated that:
Any spin coming from the White House should be discounted. This is very, very bad.”
Exactly. Things with the Trump administration have gotten so bad, there is basically no way that Trump’s team can get themselves out of this. Everyone in the White House is freaking out at this moment, and they’re becoming aware that they may have been involved in one of the biggest presidential scandals in over 40 years.
As Special Counsel Robert Mueller moves forward with his investigation, Donald Trump and his team are not going to be able to hide, manipulate, or lie as they have before. America has already refused to take this administration seriously, and Mueller’s investigation has merely sealed the deal on their credibility. Trump’s aides know how bad this is – and it’s about time that Trump acknowledged it, too. His days are numbered.
