It may be the weekend, but Donald Trump’s insanity works around the clock, never taking a break (unfortunately, we wish we could say the same about his dedication to the presidential duties he signed up for).
Further proving that Trump basically lives off of a constant diet of Fox News shows, Trump was set off by an older news story that he saw on the network, which inspired him to fire off a few ridiculous, poorly thought out tweets. The story, which was two days old, was about House Judiciary Republicans being frustrated with the Department of Justice for not turning over documents in time for the Thursday subpoena deadline. These documents were related to the allegations of FISA abuses against the FBI, and conservatives are upset they have only received a few of the documents they were expecting to get.
After Fox dedicated a short segment to this older story today, Trump was set off and offered his irrelevant (but very insane) opinion on the old story. Trump stated that committee members “are angrily accusing the Department of Justice of missing the Thursday Deadline for turning over UNREDACTED Documents relating to FISA abuse, FBI, Comey, Lynch, McCabe, Clinton Emails and much more.” He also accused the DOJ of “slow walking” the process.
In the next tweet, Trump asked the DOJ and FBI what they “have to hide” and what was preventing them from “giving the strongly requested documents” to the committee before making accusations of “stalling.”
During the segment, which started about 30 minutes before Trump posted these tweets, Fox News was speculating about whether or not the Department of Justice was hiding something by not turning over the documents — which Trump latched onto. Little does Trump know that he just made himself look awful — how many times has Trump hidden documents (like his tax returns) from the public?!
Once again, Trump is showing the country that he spends more of his time watching cable news and tweeting than he spends being POTUS.
