Once again, the White House has decided to cancel another press briefing.
Today marks the second day in a row without a press briefing, after Monday’s absolutely disastrous one held by Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah. As usual, the White House did not provide a reason for the cancellation—but it’s most likely to give Sarah Huckabee Sanders time to brush up on her lies.
Recently, we learned that President Donald Trump noted in his financial disclosure that he “fully reimbursed” personal attorney Michael Cohen as much as $250,000 for unspecified “expenses,” with no mention of a $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about a sexual tryst she said they had. The head of the nation’s ethics office questioned why Trump didn’t include this in his previous year’s disclosure and passed along his concerns to federal prosecutors.
Not to mention the fact that Robert Mueller issued two subpoenas to one of Trump’s former campaign aides, inching the Special Counsel closer to busting the president and his team of swamp creatures.
Plus, Trump’s team wants to refrain from talking about the Senate Intelligence Committees report, US Embassy in Jerusalem, Cohen and Trump’s essential consultants LLC, and much more.
Reporters are dying to grill Sanders about these new revelations, and like always, she is mustering up some of her best lies to tell the public. If the press briefings resume tomorrow, the White House has a ton of explaining to do about the double cancellations.
In the face of more truth being revealed, Trump’s administration is running out of lies to tell, so hiding seems to be the best option for them.
